Retinal disease treatment
At The DOC, our fellowship-trained retinal specialist offers treatment for retinal diseases and conditions. The treatment will depend on which part of the retina is affected, how severe the problem is and what is causing the problem. A comprehensive dilated eye exam will help your doctor diagnose the issue and recommend treatment options. If you are experiencing any vision problems, don’t wait until your vision is permanently damaged or lost. Contact us today to schedule an eye exam.

When you’re referred to our surgery center, we’ll conduct thorough testing and spend time to really get to know you. Our eye doctors will use this information to find the surgical solution that allows you to raise your sights and see in perfect focus.

LASIK /PRK

We offer cutting-edge LASIK and PRK surgery for patients looking to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. If you are over the age of 18, have had a stable vision prescription for more than two years, and are in good overall health, LASIK/PRK is a great option to consider.

At The DOC, we know that glasses or contacts aren’t for everyone, and LASIK/PRK can help raise the overall convenience of your daily life. Many of our patients find freedom without the constant need for corrective eyewear.

Scheduling a complementary evaluation with a LASIK/PRK surgeon can help you determine if laser vision correction surgery is the right choice for you.

Clear Lens Exchange

Clear Lens Exchange (CLE), may be a better option than LASIK, PRK or phakic IOL refractive surgery for people with presbyopia (nearsightedness) and high hyperopia (farsightedness).  This proactive procedure allows patients the ability to improve their vision as well as eliminate the potential for cataract development. One may choose to have CLE performed to reduce their dependence on glasses and contacts or use it as a tool to eliminate early cataract development.

During CLE, the natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a state-of-the-art artificial lens (intraocular lens – IOL) to correct your refractive error and achieve sharper focus.  Once this lens is in place, a patient is guaranteed to never develop cataracts at a later date in time.

Clear Lens Exchange is a very popular procedure for patients looking for an effective LASIK alternative. Performed just like cataract surgery, CLE is basically considered cataract surgery for refractive benefit.

Laser Cataract Surgery

Our commitment to our patients is to offer the most advanced solutions in eye surgery. Combining cutting-edge laser-guided technology with our surgeons’ expertise has created a safer, more effective surgery with consistent outcomes.

As part of the first group of private surgeons in Denver to offer laser cataract technology, we offer the peace of mind you deserve when choosing a cataract surgeon. In addition to our state-of-the-art technology — including the femtosecond laser for precise incisions — we also carry a variety of advanced intraocular lens (IOL) options to meet your unique needs.

Corneal Transplants

Corneal transplants are a solution for patients suffering from a damaged cornea. Dr. Kouyoumdjian can replace part of the cornea with corneal tissue from a donor to restore vision, reduce pain, and improve the eye’s overall appearance.

Corneal transplants have an extremely high success rate of over 95% and can greatly improve your quality of life if you have an injured or diseased cornea. Our doctors will work with you to determine if additional vision correction treatments are necessary following your corneal transplant to ensure you enjoy the clearest vision possible.

Glaucoma Surgery

If you’ve been diagnosed with glaucoma, our specialists can discuss glaucoma surgery & treatment options with you. We offer Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) to reduce and maintain your eye’s intraocular pressure.

SLT is an outpatient procedure and has little to no recovery time. It’s a great alternative solution if you’ve found prescription eye drops to be ineffective at lowering the pressure in your eye.
